Five Ways to Wellbeing

To help students to feel positive and get the most out of life at Keighley College, we promote the 5 ways to wellbeing.

1. Connect with people

Make the effort to talk to someone you don’t know, smile and say hello. Connecting with others helps protect your wellbeing.

2. Be active

Exercise can help reduce stress and improve your mood.

3. Take notice

Look at your surroundings and notice your mood. Increase your self-awareness and be mindful of the world around you. Be present. Recognise what is important to you and your life.

4. Keep learning

Boost your self-esteem and confidence by trying something new. Contact the Students’ Union to find out what activities you can get involved in at college.

5. Give

Helping others can boost your wellbeing. Say thank you, volunteer your time to help someone, be kind to others.

Baton of Hope

Creating Hope Together at Keighley College

Supporting Our Students Every Step of the Way

At Keighley College, we believe that no young person should ever feel alone in their struggles. With youth suicide rates on the rise, it’s more important than ever to create a compassionate, connected community where every student feels heard, valued, and supported.

This year, we’re proud to be taking part in the Baton of Hope – a powerful, UK-wide movement aiming to break the silence around suicide and shine a light on hope. The Baton’s journey is about raising awareness, encouraging open dialogue, and letting every young person know: you matter, and help is here.

On Tuesday 9 September, the Baton of Hope will be touring around the Bradford area and will stop off at Keighley College. If you would like to be involved, we encourage you to visit their website and get in touch.

At Keighley College, we stand with our students and our wider community in promoting mental wellbeing, kindness, and connection. Because together, we can carry the baton of hope – and help build a future where no one has to suffer in silence.

If you or someone you know is struggling or has been affected by suicide, please reach out to our wellbeing team, or speak to a member of staff. There is always someone ready to listen.
